Malta and its sister island of Gozo, are many a times taken for granted due to their small size (just 316 sq km). Due to its strategic location and subsequently vast history, the archipelago boasts of a diverse heritage from the world’s oldest surviving freestanding structures to the romantic Old City of Mdina.  Its influences vary from North Africa to Southern Italy, which in particular inspired the local cuisine.  Malta is a very safe country, thus a very family friendly destination and offers plenty to keep visitors entertained.

The sunny Mediterranean climate keeps the average temperature at around 18ºC. It can reach 35ºC in summer but 12ºC is about as cold as its gets in winter.  Sunsets can be spectacular with magnificent pastel displays.

Marriage legalities in Malta are considered as relatively easy, thus making it more realistic to embark on a destination wedding. Although the basic paperwork is still required, it is a relief to know that no residency requirements or any pre-requisites regarding various religions are needed.
