A Grand Location for an Intimate Wedding

Jan and Gro arrived in Malta a few days before the wedding began and were met by the I DO KNOT team to be taken to the registry office. There all the legal documents were checked and they were ready for their special day a few days later.

On the 7th October 2016, Gro and Jan prepared themselves to say I do. They stayed in the fabulous Seashells Resort, Suncrest in Qawra, which is four star resort overlooking incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea within the St. Paul’s Bay area.

Their wedding was a very small intimate affair with a total of four guests – the bride and groom, their son and Gro’s mother. The latter was also a witness as was Matthew a member of the I DO KNOT team. It made for a very romantic and private wedding.

On the big day they all travelled together in a modern stretch limousine whilst sipping champagne on the way to the wedding ceremony. The ceremony was held in the Great Siege Bell Memoria in Valletta.  It was a perfect warm sunny day, enhancing the already breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour.

Gro made a lovely bride in her long ivory bridal gown – a very appropriate dress for a mature bride. She carried a bouquet of off white and pastel roses which were hand tied with ribbon. Jan and their son had an off white rose for their boutonnieres and Gro’s mother wore an off white rose for her corsage. All of them looked simple and elegant. Jan looked very smart wearing a black tuxedo suit and a royal navy dickie bow. Their son looked very handsome wearing a blue chequered shirt and blue blazer, with Gro’s mum keeping the theme in a light pastel blue and pink chequered two-piece.

Jan and Gro walked arm in arm up the stairs leading to the Great Siege Bell, where the registrar was waiting for them. The photographer was capturing every moment from when they arrived in the limousine to whilst they read their vows. Gro’s mother read a meaningful sermon out to them with the help of their son and they finished by sealing the knot and saying I do.

Afterwards everybody sipped prosecco and Jan and Gro enjoyed the moment of being newlyweds, it was very romantic. Some photographs were taken of them both and also with the four of them – it was very much a loving family affair.

Whilst roaming in the neighbouring streets of Valletta, the area bustling with typical characteristics that are unique to the City, a horse-drawn carriage called for them and accompanied them to the Valletta Waterfront.  Here they were left in private to enjoy an informal yet intimate meal to end off their celebration.

This was a very last minute wedding to organise for the I DO KNOT team, yet we managed to execute it beautifully and our newlyweds had lots of beautiful memories to last a lifetime!  Congratulations Jan & Gro!
