Happily Wed for the Third Time!

Erica first contacted I Do Knot asking for the possibility to organise an intimate ceremony in Malta for her and her fiancé.  Although this was the second marriage for Erica and the third for Christopher, the couple were in a relationship for a number of years and surprising to everyone around them how they hadn’t tied the knot as yet!

To make it more exciting, the couple hadn’t mentioned a word to anyone back home that they were secretly engaged and the primary reason why they were travelling to Malta was actually to get married!  Except for Erica’s mum, who is almost 90 years of age and still Erica’s best friend, who is let in all of her doings.

The date was set for the 27th of September 2016 and the location the couple picked was the Silent City of Mdina. The chosen venue for the civil ceremony was the beautiful rustic courtyard of the 15th century Palazzo Falson – a very romantic backdrop and a perfect setting for the occasion.

On the day the hair and make-up artist arrived at the hotel to prepare the bride for her big day. Erica wore an off white lace dress, to the knee with three-quarter sleeves dress, a stunning silver diamond necklace and a matching hair slide. Christopher wore a smart light grey suit with a grey satin tie. Erica held a bouquet of red and white roses and he wore a single red rose corsage.

The couple were very excited whilst waiting for their pick up outside the hotel lobby.  The car they had chosen was a white vintage Beauford, especially because Beaufords were of sentimental value to this couple as the couple spent a few years living in the vicinity of where the manufacturing plant was originally based.  In fact they had lots to talk about with their driver, Charles, who was the proud owner of this beauty.  They made sure to capture some photos with the car and insisted to have one of Chris pretending to drive!

The wedding ceremony was a very intimate and private affair with 2 of us as the couple’s witnesses. After exchanging their vows and rings the couple were officially declared husband and wife. A glass of champagne was served together with a selection of canapés and a toast to the lovely pair was made.

After the ceremony it was time to use the narrow streets and the baroque buildings of Mdina as a beautiful backdrop for their wedding photographs. Various locations were used; the photographer was spoilt for choice in the historical town to capture their special day through the lens. They were the picture of happiness, full of smiles and romance.

Afterwards the couple had some free time to enjoy an aperitif before heading to their reception dinner in the award winning Medina restaurant. There they enjoyed their dinner with a good bottle of Maltese wine, produced from the vineyards that are just under Mdina!

Following dinner an executive car picked up the newlyweds from the restaurant and drove them back to their hotel.

It was an absolute pleasure organising Erica’s and Christopher’s wedding and the team at I DO KNOT wishes them the best of luck for their future together! Many congratulations and well wishes to our happy couple!
