Celebrating 25 Years of Marriage

December 14, 2017 12:52 pm

On Sunday 3rd September, Matilda and Milovan with their two daughters landed in Malta for the first time. They came here to renew their wedding vows after twenty-five years of marriage. None of them had ever visited Malta or Gozo before and were all very excited to be here.

The I DO KNOT team greeted them at the airport and went through the renewal preparations with them as they were heading straight to Gozo. Matilda and Milovan wanted a simple yet elegant affair and one that they could involve their daughters in as when they first got married the children weren’t born.  After discussing the plans the family began their transfer to Gozo through transportation arranged by I DO KNOT.

On Tuesday 5th September the special day had arrived. Although a small affair, our staff still ensured the family were given their attention.  Charlene delivered the flowers: a hand tied bouquet with a mix of peach and white roses and baby breath with some green foliage entwined and a light peach ribbon bow tied to the stems for the bride; two corsages for the daughters and a buttonhole for the groom.

Our beauty team arrived at the hotel where the family were staying and beauty preparations were taken care of.

Meanwhile, Matthew was in charge of set up mainly to ensure the restaurant where they were having dinner later was ready for them and the ceremony location.

Even though they were already married, Milovan had yet to see Matilda’s new wedding gown and they waited until they got outside the hotel before he was allowed to see her. Milovan looked very smart wearing a dark navy suit, a white shirt and silver tie.

Matilda wore a stunning ivory floor length satin gown; it was ruched at the bodice and flared slightly at the bottom, in her hair she wore a stunning diamante slide and she wore matching crystal jewellry. Her daughters Tamara and Daniela wore light peach floor-length dresses that were very similar to each other’s yet with different styles at the top; Daniela wore a bodice style which was ruched whilst Tamara’s had thin straps, all of them looked stunning.

When they left the hotel they were greeted with a vintage bridal car that was waiting to transport them to the Salt Pans for their renewal ceremony.

The ceremony was a short drive away and they got to the Salt Pans at 6.20pm to be greeted by the professional photographer, capturing their arrival.

The set up was very simple as the venue itself is the key factor; a stunning shoreline with the ceremony taking place on the waters edge mixed with the raw and unique terrain of the Salt Pans. For the ceremony itself all that was used was a vintage table and a pen for the signing of the renewal certificate, it was simplistic and perfect.

After having some pre wedding photographs Daniela and Tamara walked down the Salt Pan aisle whilst ‘I Believe In You’ by Micheal Buble was played in the background. Matilda and Milovan followed, walking down to the ceremony area together.

The ceremony was purely a celebration for them to share with their daughters. Throughout the ceremony, Daniela held the bridal bouquet whilst Tamara was the ring bearer. At the end Matilda spoke a reading in German about her family and their commitments together, it was an emotional time for everyone. The ceremony was finalised with a kiss by the couple and then kisses and hugs to everyone, they were extremely happy.

After enjoying a glass of chilled Prosecco as a well-deserved toast, the family, accompanied by our photographer, made their way to another area within the Salt Pans before proceeding to Marsalforn Valley nearby to make the most of the last daylight before sunset.

The family had an intimate reception dinner at the award winning Kantra Restaurant, surrounded by incredible coastline and delicious cuisine. They were transported to and from the restaurant in the luxury vintage motor, ensuring they finished their celebration in style.

It was a very sweet occasion and we had great enjoyment from helping to organise this destination renewal ceremony. From all the team at I DO KNOT, thank you and we wish you both another happy and blissful 25 years of marriage.
